Barbecuing Season
in full swing!
We're not sure
just exactly what proportion of people enjoy barbecuing in the UK... but it has
surely in recent years become one of the most
popular
of all summer garden activities!
Lots of styles
There are certainly many types and
styles of barbecues to choose from! Gas; charcoal; grills and traditional
kettle-drums; single-use/instant barbecues; and so forth - and almost
every manufacturer inevitably claims that their product is the best!
However it is fair to say that recent
years have seen such a general improvement in manufacturing standards, right
across the range, that most reasonably-priced units can give good results and of
course, the same pleasure in the partaking. Along with improvements in quality,
development of associated products has taken place, and many
useful peripheral tools and utensils etc are now available.
On display
On display in The Garden Centre Cedar
Room we have a wide selection of excellent barbecues and peripherals for the
2007 season - a choice of high quality and value models from some of the
most respected companies in the market, covering all of the current styles .
These pages show a selection of what we
have on offer. Please telephone if you are thinking about, or wish to consider,
a specific model, or to get further information. If you call in at the garden
centre you can assess what is right for yourself anytime, and we'll help
with information and explanation.
Home Delivery
If necessary we can arrange delivery.
We will be glad to assist, and will make the arrangements there and then either
by telephone or at the shop check-out.

The other outdoor leisure
item that has become immensely popular in recent years is the Chimenea.
Originally, "chimenea" was the
word used to describe virtually all clay open fire garden heaters imported from Mexico. Chimeneas originated
in antiquity, as part of the way of life of the indigenous Mexican. They have
a dual purpose - heating for the family as well as a vessel for
cooking. In modern times they are fast becoming an essential practical
addition to the BBQ kit for the typical English summer evening.
Many of the latest and best
Chimeneas are individually hand made
from a blend of industrial fire clays that are designed to withstand
temperatures in excess of 1200 degrees centigrade. Some are reinforced
internally with wire mesh, so even if you do get a "thermal shock" (for
example, ten minutes of unexpected English rain) they will not 'fall apart'.
Some of the latest Chimeneas are capable of
withstanding the temperatures associated with the burning of smokeless
coals, house coal, charcoal or logs.
When the sun has set, and the
dusk begins to encroach you can stoke-up your chimenea and feel the
radiance of the heat!
