We shortly intend
selectively expanding the range of plants available by mail order.
These plants will be listed on a
new page

"Plants by Courier"
- page now under
construction. The service will start on a modest basis and
expand over time. If the plant you want is not yet listed on the new
page just give us a ring, and if it is practical to send it, we will
try to oblige.
We've now thoroughly
tested our dedicated plant courier service for on-line orders by
sending many plants to various locations up and down the country,
over several weeks, followed by paying close attention to customers'
feedback and suggestions. We have negotiated a 20% reduction on the
cost of the courier, and can usually send up to four or five plants
per courier box, depending on the size of the plants.
Plants are first
selected as usual on the "shopping trolley" facility, courier charge
is then added as a final step and the total is paid by credit card
on a
secure server. In
the event of any query we will contact customers by telephone or
email, to ensure we get the order 100% correct. Here are the
details:
Buying Plants by Mail
Order: delivery cost is £10.00 - we can usually
(depending on size of plants of course) deliver any number of
plants between 1 and 5 for the same cost.
TO BUY PLANTS use the
buttons as follows: 1. select your plants by clicking the usual MAIL-ORDER 'ADD
TO BASKET' button alongside the plant/s, 2. then after selecting your plants,
add the courier cost onto your order by clicking the 'ADD COURIER COST' button
ONCE ONLY.
We
cannot deliver unless the courier costs are added!

NOTE WELL!
DROUGHT MEASURES: As you will
have heard on the TV and in the Press etc
All manufacturers are now
limiting the supply of WATER BUTTS to Garden Centres - they just
cannot keep up with demand - mainly from the south of England - in
anticipation of drought problems - possibly leading to hose-pipe
bans/possibility of standing pipes in the streets - this summer.
The subterranean aquifers are at an historic low, due to several
low-rainfall winters. We understand that other "watering items" for
example hoses, sprinklers etc supplies are also coming 'under
pressure' (no pun intended), but this is not as evident just at
present.
If you think you might want to obtain a butt
so as to ensure at least some supply of water in your garden, we can add you to our
CUSTOMER LIST. We are accepting
orders and supplying to customers
as stock arrives, in the order the list has been compiled. Butts can
be fitted with rainwater collection kits; they usually come with
some form of tap, or hose-connector, at the outlet valve, at the
base.
We expect new supplies between now and mid-June,
in the meantime we are
limited to receiving just a couple of butts per week, from suppliers.
Once you are on our LIST we will telephone or email to confirm
availability/price/styles/size etc.
Unless collected personally
BUTTS are usually delivered at a reasonable rate via our COURIER,
anywhere in the country, costs confirmed
at time of sending but in nearly all cases the standard mail-order
courier rate around £9.00 or £10.00 or so depending on dimensions.
Of course, since we are
dependent on third party suppliers, we cannot GUARANTEE
availability - - - but we will do all we can to supply you with a butt
if you decide you might need one for the garden.

which are in magnificent flower right now, with a

are now budding very strongly and will shortly be in magnificent
flower. We are also looking forward to the flowerings of the
Rhododendrons - we have a superb range of large-growing
plants:-

plants, not to mention a wide selection of varieties of the much
sought-after dwarf plants
all looking spectacular as the buds form into being. We now have in
stock Onion sets
and a massive range of Seed Potatoes
