These two ingenious plant protection systems are great favourites with gardeners. The Growhouse is designed to cover all standard grow bags - so is perfect for early crops of tomatoes etc - but it is also very useful for early protection of other plants. A fantastic quality 8' x 6' greenhouse fully glazed and with a steel base for less than £350?

Prices on all these items are about to increase for the 2008 season, however for internet customers we will hold these 2007 prices for the coming period (February and March).

A new range of keenly priced, green-framed, high quality aluminium greenhouses with polycarbonate glazing has been launched by one of the UK's top-notch gardening manufacturers, Gardman Ltd. (Click for PRESS CUTTINGS)

Three popular-sized models (4ft x 6ft, 6ft x 6ft and 8ft x 6ft) are available. The 4ft x 6ft is now also available in the "lean-to" format. Polycarbonate-glazing is used on all models for family safety and heat efficiency. Strong, green-coated bases of galvanised steel to secure the structure are also offered. All packs come complete with fittings and instructions.

These new greenhouses combine fantastic style and quality with affordability. Gardeners will fully appreciate what value-for-money they represent. The green-coated, aluminium frame looks great, and has an enamelled coating for long life, and it does not tarnish or fade. Its classic shape and colour mean it looks good in both traditional and modern gardens. Polycarbonate glazing is light, strong and safe, virtually unbreakable and easy to handle. Its twin-wall construction provides an ideal growing environment and good insulation from frost. It also maintains a more even temperature than glass does, resulting in better plant growth, and diffuses light, thereby preventing scorch.

We also provide a matching range of accessories, including staging, fold-away shelving and staging, and louvre vents - all in aluminium and all very keenly priced - plus an automatic vent opener. For ease of handling, greenhouses are delivered to your door in three flat-packs. The modern, sleek design makes erecting the house very straightforward, and the polycarbonate glazing is easy to handle and to secure in place, being much lighter than conventional glass. Fixings, clips, nuts and bolts etc are of standard sizes and available as spares.

Hi Brian,

Well, at long last, I have got round to erecting my Gardman Greenhouse. Firstly, I would like to put on record my thanks for your very fast, efficient, helpful service. The greenhouse, etc. arrived in a couple of days, was very well packed & contained every part, nut & bolt which was ordered. (rare these days!). I was very pleased with the construction of the greenhouse & the accessories. The instructions were easy to follow & took just short of a couple of days to erect. The base & the construction of the frames took the best part of one day & after the cement anchoring the base had set, the erection & glazing, took me another day. I am very pleased at the result, the greenhouse having to fit in a very small area of my tiny garden. You may remember it had to be a 4' x 6', because I could not get a 6' x 6' in to the area in question! I have attached 3 photos showing the erection of the greenhouse, not that brilliant; but if they are of any help to you, please use them. Kind regards, Ernest Thompson.

Ernest invented a way of modifying the house to add an extra vent:

Hi Brian,

Well, I have fitted the Louvre Vent to the greenhouse back, to act as a roof vent & it has worked out perfectly, without any problems! Its a definite great addition to the small 4' x 6' greenhouse & only took me about 45 minutes. Fitting procedure: 1. Remove the Back End Apex J1-7 & the Back End Long Sheet J1-1. 2. Fit the Louvre Right Hand & Left Hand Structures L1 & L2 above the Back Horizontal Brace B2 (loosen the two nuts to assist fitting - tighten at the end. See picture Louvre A.

3. Fit the 5 Polycarbonate sheets L3 into the Structures, as per instructions. 4. Refit the Back End Long Sheet J1-1 having removed the H Profile Joiner J2-1 5. Reduce the size of the Back End Apex J1-7 to fit (remove about 17 ") to include the H Profile Joiner J2-1 which is refitted. See picture Louvre B. 6.
